This ancient “magnanerie" built in 1686, within the village of Grambois in the Luberon, with no adjoining properties and its own patios, has been restored with extra attention to its charm and Provençal character. It is a peaceful haven nestled in the Luberon Park.

Our gîte, L'Insouciance, is a semi-detached house adjacent to our own home.

You will enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Eze valley, the Pays d'Aigues plain and, directly facing us, the Grand Luberon massif culminating at 1125 m at Mourre Nègre.

The gite is situated just a short distance from the village square and the "Fontaine aux Bartavelles,” a direct reference to the writer and film maker Marcel Pagnol.

L'Insouciance is an independent gîte for two people with a secure key box for self-check-in.

The decoration is simple and stylish. The house is bright, calm, and boasts a magnificent view of the southern side of the Grand Luberon.

It has a small east-facing terrace where you can enjoy sunny breakfasts, and a private patio where you can relax with a good book.

The gîte consists of a main room, a lounge area, a living room, an independent bedroom with a 160 x 200 cm bed, a dressing room a lovely bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. Please note that the gîte is also air-conditioned. High-speed internet is available.

Bed linen, towels, tea towels, and hand towels are included for a one-week stay. On the terrace, there are a small table and chairs to enjoy sunny breakfasts, and on the patio, two deckchairs where you can relax after a day spent hiking.

Facilities and amenities

Kitchen: Induction hob, combination oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, kettle, Melitta filter coffee maker, toaster, blender and all essential utensils.
Bathroom: Washing machine, drying rack, hairdryer, heated towel rail.
Living room: Television, DVD player, JBL speaker, books.
Also available: Iron and ironing board.

Grambois and surroundings

Grambois is a village built on a rock; it is located in the Luberon Park, offers breathtaking views on the Luberon hills and the surrounding vineyards.

You will explore: the ancient village walls, the "Notre Dame de Beauvoir" church, the Knights Templar passage, the "Hospitaliers" building, a majestic 400-year-old oak tree, and then walk to the lower part of the village and enjoy the most beautiful view of Mourre Nègre directly from the village.

You will also enjoy the surroundings easily; from simple strolls through the small perched villages and very picturesque villages of character—Ansouis, Lourmarin, Cucuron, La Tour d'Aigues, Vitrolles en Luberon, Vaugines—, to treks suitable for the more experienced hikers (Mourre Nègre, the cedar forest in Bonnieux, the Fort de Buoux, the Provençal Colorado, Les Mourres in Forcalquier, ...).

Numerous bicycle and mountain bike routes are available, and you can also enjoy a swim at the Étang de la Bonde.

Grambois is just 25 minutes from Aix-en-Provence (Ais de Prouvènço in Provençal), a very elegant city with a maze of pedestrian streets, exceptional architecture, and lively squares.

A few kilometers away in the Alpes de Haute Provence, we recommend you set off to uncover superb landscapes, charming villages in the heart of Provence and typical places: Montfuron and its pretty windmill, Montjustin, Reillanne, Forcalquier, located between the Luberon and the Lure mountain.
